The Kākā Sweater is a cropped V-neck sweater with a relaxed fit, drop shoulders, and graphic lacework on the front. It is suitable for intermediate to advanced knitters

It is worked from the bottom up in the round to the armholes. The front and back are then worked separately to the shoulders. Shoulder shaping is formed by simply increasing the width of the front and back as you work the piece from the underarms to the shoulder seams. It is seamed only at the shoulders. Stitches are then picked up to form the band of the neck. The sleeves are worked top-down by picking up stitches at the armhole.

Yarn
It requires an Aran gauge yarn (18-19 stitches and 22-24 rows per 10 cm / 4 inches), for a speedier knit. As we designed it for summer, we have recommended cotton, such as Scheepjes Cahlista or Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton. However, it can also be worked in alternative fibres. Some 4 ply cotton yarns can also be used held double, such as Rowan Summerlite 4ply.
