The original mittens were knitted by Kala Selzer (née Londner) in Gruenberg forced labor camp during WWII. Kala survived and donated the glove to Yad Vashem Shoah memorial museum.
Pattern instructions were written based on pictures of the mitten and with Kala Selzer’s permission.
