The Kaleidoscope Mosaic Overlay pattern calls for 1500 yards of color A and 1500 yards of color B in Worsted Weight (Aran). It is presented in “I Love This Yarn” Solid and Print. This yarn is sold exclusively at Hobby Lobby in the USA, but substitutions can easily be made in the colors of your choice for those who live elsewhere in the world. I have included photos of solid swatches to demonstrate how the design would appear in a solid color scheme. The pattern calls for a 4.5 mm hook. Stitch markers are advised until the pattern is established.

I call it “Kaleidoscope” because there are a number of patterns within the design. When viewed from a few feet away, a different pattern dominates with each new glance.

Provided you maintain the integrity of the overall pattern, it is very forgiving of the rare mistake.

The pattern includes a fully expandable graph and an additional 30 x 30 repeat x4 square graph, which is also expandable. Written instructions, specs, key, abbreviation guide, contact information and designer notes are also included.
