Kaleidoscope of Color
Kaleidoscope of Color is my entry into The Fiber Factor’s first challenge, “Knit Your Life.” I am NOT one of the contestants in the real contest, but TFF has kindly opened the way for followers like me to swatch-along and enter designs of their own that meet the contest criteria. My design, which can be a wrap, a throw or a baby blanket, was inspired by the awesome 64-count Crayola crayon box.
“For as long as I can remember, color has played a leading role in my life. Every Fall, Mom gave me a 64-count box of Crayolas. I wanted to eat them, they looked so good. Cornflower Blue tasted the best! And Spring always brought fresh daffodils with their wonderfully saturated golden-yellows.
I have been knitting for 50 years, but only five years ago I became conscious of colorwork. I saw a hand-knit Alice Starmore sweater, and I was mesmerized. I learned the technique, and it has been bringing me immeasurable joy ever since. My life is, indeed, a Kaleidoscope of Color!”
The fact that Kaleidoscope of Color is Exceedingly easy to knit and gives the knitter complete control over color choice makes it a wonderful knitting project. The back is as lovely as the front---well almost!
