Kaleidoscope throw poncho
Kaleidoscope is especially written for a more chunky yarn, I would suggest not to go thicker then Aran as it is in overlay mosaic or interlocking filet crochet which makes it almost double layered.
This square throw can be made as a simple poncho by making two halves separately.
As you are used of me this pattern comes in two techniques:
Interlocking Filet crochet 115 by 115 windows (full square) approximately 165 by 165 cm
Aran (USA light worsted) yarn needed a dark colour: 2900 meters or 3050 yards
a lighter or contrasting colour: 2700 meters or 2950 yards
based on hook size 5,5 mm, USA 9
The pattern comes written and in chart
Overlay mosaic crochet 235 by 235 stitches (full square) approximately 160 by 160 cm
Aran (USA light worsted) yarn needed a dark colour: 2800 meters or 3100 yards
a lighter or contrasting colour: 3000 meters or 3280 yards
based on hook size 5,5 mm, USA 9
I added as a bonus 5 squares in a chart so you can combine those to make a pillow or table runner in mosaic
The pattern comes written and in chart
I also added a large (if wished printable) X chart
When you want a smaller size choose a thinner yarn and down size your crochet hook
Size and yarn needed always depends on 3 factors, hook, ply and tension
These factors make this project your own size, that is why yarn needed and size are always an estimate (close  )
