A pattern to knit some scary gothic style mitts with optional beads. Something a little different, for Halloween.

The mitts fit a small to medium hand . For larger hands or for a looser fit, you may use larger size needles, and the star wrist band could be worked in the same size needle as the main part of the mitts, if desired

You will need 50g fingering weight yarn in the main background colour of dark navy blue or black, and 50g of the same in a paler contrasting yarn. Solid, or semi solid colours work best, as the pattern may be lost if you use a variegated yarn. I knit the tumbling stars in white, but you could do the whole thing in just the two shades.

If faffing about sewing ends in is an issue ( I confess to sewing-in-ends-phobia!) you can dispense with the contrasting edges.

Beads ( optional): I used 118 ruby red Miyuki seed beads size 8, and 4 pearly white beads same size for the “fangs”, and two larger size 6 beads for the “bindi” in the centre of the forehead.

For folk who don’t want to add beads, just knit the white squares with Main colour, except for Kali’s eyes and fangs, which you should knit with Contrast
