About the cardigan
Kalia cardigan is knit from the top down. First you knit the back piece with short row shaping for the neck, then you continue knitting until you have reached the bottom of the arm holes. The stitches for the front pieces are picked up and knit using short rows for shaping, while doing increases to form the neckband. The front pieces are knit until they reach the bottom of the arm holes. When the back piece and the front pieces are the same length, they are joined together, and you continue knitting the body flat. The body is finished with a double knit edge. The stitches for the sleeves are picked up. The top of the sleeve has short row shaping, and then you continue the sleeve knitting in the round. The sleeves are finished with a double knit edge. Then the stitches for the front bands are picked up and knit in double knit. Finally, the collar is knit seamlessly together with the front bands in double knit.
