Kane Socks
Hotels & resorts are often great places to find interesting motifs and imagery. On one such visit to Hawaii, I saw great patterns all over the resort and returned home with inspiration from with to draw upon. Some of these motifs were very strong and masculine in design and since Kane (kah-nay) means “man” or “boy” in the Hawaiian language, the title seemed fitting!
Kane Socks is a toe-up, charted, colorkwork pattern using 2 circular needles and is great for pairing two solid colors or one solid with a variegated yarn. Once the heel is completed, you can choose to continue in the established foot pattern or use the instep pattern to match the front. Pattern sizes include medium and large.
Gauge is 7-8 stitches for 1 inch.
Medium size uses One (1) 50-gram ball of Main Color, One (1) 50-gram ball of Contrast color.
Large size uses Two (2) 50-gram ball of Main Color, One (1) 50-gram ball of Contrast color.
