Whenever I was cold as a child, my Mom’s first response was “put on some socks!” These will definitely do the trick! They’re ideal comfy lounging socks - thicker than regular socks, but not quite as thick or dense as slippers.
These slipper socks are perfect for both the seasoned sock knitter, and also a first time sock knitter - you get the enjoyment of knitting socks, but the instant gratification of chunky yarn. The patterning encircles the entire foot and leg, and provides a squishy sole and thermal warmth.
This slipper sock is knit from the toe up, for the magic loop method, and uses a short row heel. Tutorial links are included for all techniques from the cast on to the bind off.
Sizing is given by foot circumference, with modification notes to adjust the length appropriately for specific foot sizes.
This pattern has been test knit and edited for accuracy and clarity.
Chunky weight yarn varies greatly from brand to brand, so checking your gauge after a few rounds is necessary. This pattern is very stretchy, though, so it’s forgiving and snug at the same time.
Finished items may be sold from my patterns, of course, as they are your work.Standard copyright restrictions apply to the pattern itself.
