My daughter’s partner remarked just before Christmas that he was fed up of socks that didn’t fit and wore out quickly. He is a UK size 13! so: I rose to the challenge and designed this pattern that uses 2 strands of 4-ply yarn for the whole of the heel, sole and toe. Instructions explain how to do this while knitting the leg and top of the foot with a single strand. I include a simple rib/twist pattern for the leg, but you can adapt to use your own favourite.

The Wee Duchess provides plenty of tips and photographs as you knit.
It will work with any 4-ply sock yarn.

Karl loved his socks so much that it was about 5 days before we could get them off his feet to wash them…..!

A unique pattern for experienced and intermediate knitters who already understand the basics of sock construction.
Instructions are given in one size, for a man of average build. The foot length is adjustable.
