Named for the feminine forms adorning Greek architecture, Karyai brings to mind the grace and beauty imbued by finishing touches. All the romance of stepping under hand-hewn marble arches and hearing footsteps echo off of master craftsmen’s work is captured in the sweeping drape and tidy lines of this cozy shawl.
Worked from the top down to a semicircle, Karyai is warm, wearable, and distinctive.

Using a mosaic (slip stitch) pattern, this shawl’s intricate edge is in fact easy to master, using only 1 color per row. No stranding necessary!

Errata: At the beginning, when setting up the shawl, it should read: Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until 52 sts on needle. Next Row: K3, p49, then p/u and knit 3 sts along cast on edge. – 55 sts

Yarn:
Outlaw Yarn ‘Bohemia’ (45% Polwarth / 45% Alpaca / 10% Possum fibre, 182 yd/166 m, 50 grams/1.76 ounces)
3 skeins color A (Keepsake), 1 skein color B (Prose).

Needles:
US Size 6 (4 mm) DPNs or 16” circular needle, or size to obtain gauge

Gauge:
22 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch

Finished Size:
16” / 41 cm center back
50” / 127 cm wingspan
