KAT no.2
During our second Knitathon, I was working on this sweater. I was happy that I designed it to be worked top-down, because that allowed me to enjoy the lace section early in the day, and then just work the stockinette body in the round later, half asleep…
It is a playful little sweater with short sleeves and a ribbed lace pattern that gives a nice fit around the shoulders and hide the initial increases for the yoke. After the lace, increases are worked as raglans.
This sweater also features a cute body shaping which pulls the edge of the sweater slightly up in front and tightens it a bit just below the waist. You can easily omit this body shaping – then you just knit straight down to the ribbing.
The lace is simple and easy, but you need to be able to work from a chart. The instructions for the lace are not written out; the lace section is only charted.

Fit
Kat no. 2 is designed to be worn with 5-20 cm / 2-8 in positive ease. Because of the close fitting yoke, you can go up in size to get a lot of ease in the body, but still get a sweater with a nice fit!

Suggested needles
3.25 mm (size 3 US) circular 60 or 80 cm/24 or 32 in for ribbing (using magic loop where needed)
4 mm (size 6 US) circular 60 or 80 cm/24 or 32 in for body (using magic loop where needed)
Gauge
20 stitches x 28 rows/rounds in stockinette stitch on larger needle = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches)
Note: Needle size is just a suggestion. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain gauge!
Pay extra attention to your gauge when working the sleeves. Many knitters tend to have a tighter gauge when working small circumferences. If this happens to you, you will have to go up a needle size.
