Katinkulta (Fool's Gold)
I am a sucker for colourful skeins but sometimes the dye of the yarn revealing on knitted surface does not please the eye. Jitterbug yarn swept me off my feet at first sight but the short sequences (5–25 cm) of colour switches gave me trouble and I felt that I’d found Fool’s gold (Katinkulta in Finnish) instead of something really valuable. I had in my hands something beautiful but something bit worthless, until I came up with the surface pattern with some slipped stitches. And finally I managed to turn the yarn (almost being stashed away) into something prescious.
This is a one size scarf but which is easily converted to bigger or smaller size. In addition to yarn and needles you need 4 pretty buttons if you want to decorate your cowl with a strip of buttons. All in all you need 160 g of yarn.
