Katniss Cross-body Cowl
The super chunky Katniss Cowl is inspired by the cross-body, over the shoulder sweater shawl
worn by Katniss Everdeen in the latest Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire. This archer’s vest, resembling a shield, a protector of the body and heart, has been redesigned for everyday wear. The neck cowl is worked in popcorn stitch to mimic the chunky neckline of Katniss’ sweater and the cowl and drape are specially worked to resemble knitwear…it is both warm, comfortable and looks great on everyone!
Perfect for Intermediate level crocheters or Advanced Beginners looking to learn some new skills.
The gauge is not a critical part of this pattern since it drapes across the body and is not fitted.
The cowl is worked in the round including a modified popcorn stitch and working in the back bar of the previous row. The drape is worked in rows using HDC working in the back loop and front bar on alternating rows. The sweater is worked in two pieces and stitched together, A picture tutorial of stitches is included.
Size: 28 - 30” inches from top to bottom and 12-15” across the body this pattern includes directions for sizes S-XXXL
Materials needed:
Size P (11.5 mm) crochet hook
Tapestry needle

I used Lion Brand Hometown USA Super Bulky (Size 6) yarn. You will need 5 skeins of this. If you use a larger super bulky, like Wool-Ease Thick and Quick, you may want to downsize to a Size N hook.
