Katrin Srunchie
Katrin Scrunchie is a hair tie knitted in the same pattern as Katrin Mittens, and both designs are inspired by one of the many traditional Faroese designs that are to be found in the book “Faroese Knitting Patterns” (Original title: Førosk Bindingarmynstur) by Hans M. Debes (1932). Katrin Scrunchie keeps your hair in place with its elastic placed knitted inside of it. The bind off can make the design more difficult if you choose to follow the bind off around the elastic technique.
Recommended needles: 3 mm / U.S. 3 / U.K. 11 mm circular needle (at least 60 cm if you use the magic loop technique) and a 2,5 / U.S. 1,5 mm circular needle (at least 60 cm) or 3 mm / U.S. 3 / U.K. 11 double pointed needles, and a 5 mm / U.S. 8 / U.K. 6 or 6 mm / U.S. 10 / U.K. 4 needle as a helping needle for the bind off.
Gauge: 34 stitches x 33 rows on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm
