Kat's no 3
This pattern has been worked up in 3 different sizes with different yarns. You can work it for a small crib blanket, a cot size blanket or a larger one, or you can keep going once you’ve got the hang of it and make a throw. It looks more complicated than it is. It is worked around a series of repeats so once you’ve got the first few sequences of a round, you’ve then got it for the next few rounds. These rounds are then repeated further on.
By far the best version( and the one which provides the details for the sts etc) is the second one made with more muted colours which was made from stylecraft bamboo and cotton, this was designed at request for my daughters friend. The other 2 versions using mandala were the design phase (the one with deep pinks, purples etc and a pink border) , then the checking phase using the very bright colours. It does work up well though in mandala too.
A warning - there are some st counts but I really don’t see the need for st counts at the end of every row so if you are a st counting fanatic this is not for you. I give sneaky tips on how to get out of a spot where your st count is a bit out but I really do not recommend frogging unless you really really have to. I am happy to help with any sticky bits so please email me if you think there may be a mistake or you don’t understand something. I am not a professional crocheter but I really do enjoy the challenge and buzz of creating a new item. Please be patient if I don’t answer within 24 hours, if you email me direct rather than using the link in Ravelry I’ll get to it more quickly.
Please have fun with this and I’d love to see what you create.
