A simple scarf knit in a repeating k1 p1 pattern with two strands of yarn held double. The ribbing basically creates two layers of fabric in one - nice and warm for windy winter days! Since it is knit with two strands of yarn on large needles, it’s a quicker knit than most typical ribbed scarves. It’s the ideal project for other lazy people who get cold easily!

Size information: My finished scarf was over 6 feet long. I like long scarves, so I simply kept on knitting until I ran out of yarn. One skein of Caron Simply Soft is 315 yards, so it was easy to get a ridiculously long scarf. Rest assured, however, that I would not be offended if you wanted a shorter scarf.

Additional gauge information: I knit my scarf on size 10 1/2 (6.5mm) needles. With my personal gauge, these needles resulted in a very sturdy fabric. If you want a more “flowy” garment, try larger needles.

Materials: Pattern calls for two skeins of Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn, but other yarns could be substituted with little trouble. If you want to use yarn that comes in shorter skeins than Caron Simply Soft, buy extra!
