Gauge is unimportant in this quick, cute cat toy. All you need are about 6gr or 20m total of DK, sport or worsted weight scrap yarn in two contrasting colours, stuffing and a small sachet of catnip.

You can either hand-sew a small sachet from a scrap of fabric, or, follow my preferred quick and dirty method of using a scrap of old pantyhose to contain the catnip!
