Kaveri shawlettes are knitted together with a friend. You both choose your favourite colour, and together you knit the yarns into two friendship shawlettes. Your favourite colours will intertwine with each other and warm your heart like a good friendship. You create two shawlettes which are similar in pattern, but like mirrors in colour. Two small balls of yarn will turn into two light shawlettes. Kaveri means a friend in Finnish.

You start with a long I-cord chain, then pick up and knit the stitches from it. The shawlette is mostly knitted in garter stitch. In the bottom part, stripes are created with the two colours. Small cables wiggle their way up, and with decreases and slipped stitches they disappear and little by little blend into the garter stitch fabric of the upper part. All the borders of the shawlette have I-cord finishing which is worked at the same time with fabric. It is easy to hide your yarn ends into the I-cord so there is minimal finishing after binding off. Kaveri shawlette is a quick project, and you can combine stash yarns together with your friend!

Materials
Yarn: Kaarama lankastudio Rauni 100% finnsheep ecological wool (210m=50g), total of 210 m for one shawlette and 420m for two shawlettes.

Colourways:
First shawlette: Vuono (C1) and Loimu (C2).
Second shawlette: Loimu (C1) and Vuono (C2).

You can use any yarn, but this will affect your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: US #4/3,5mm, circular of 80 cm and dpns.
Notions: Tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers A, 32 stitch markers B. A and B markers should be different.

Gauge: 20 sts ja 26 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in garter stitch with US#4/3,5mm needles, blocked. Please make a swatch and select a suitable needle size to get the right gauge.

Size: 8 x 31/47 inches / 20 x 80/120 cm.

Kaveri-pikkuhuivit neulotaan yhdessä kaverin kanssa. Kumpikin valitsee lempivärinsä, ja yhdessä tehden langoista syntyy kaksi huivia. Lempivärinne kietoutuvat huiveissa yhteen ja lämmittävät kuin hyvä ystävyys. Tuloksena on kaksi pikkuhuivia, jotka ovat malliltaan samanlaiset, mutta väriltään peilikuvat. Kahdesta kerästä lankaa syntyy kaksi Kaveri-pikkuhuivia.

Huivi aloitetaan pitkällä I-cord -ketjulla, josta poimitaan silmukat. Huivi on pääosin ainaoikein-neuletta. Alaosa raidoitetaan kahdella värillä. Pienet palmikot luikertelevat reunasta ylöspäin, kunnes katoavat sitten pikkuhiljaa kavennusten ja nostettujen silmukoiden ansiosta ja sekoittuvat yläosan ainaoikein-neuleeseen. Kaikkiin reunoihin työn edetessä neulotaan I-cord, johon on helppo piilottaa langanpäät. Päättelyn jälkeen ei ole paljon viimeisteltävää. Kaveri-huivi on nopea projekti. Varastosta löytyvät jämälangat sopivat siihen myös hyvin.

Voit käyttää mitä lankaa haluat, mutta langan vahvuus vaikuttaa neuleen tiheyteen ja tarvittavaan lankamäärään sekä valmiin shaalin kokoon.

Puikot: 3,5 mm pyöröpuikko, pituus 80 cm ja 3,5 mm sukkapuikot.
Tarvikkeet: Neula, 2 silmukkamerkkiä A, 32 silmukkamerkkiä B. A ja B silmukkamerkkien tulee olla erilaisia.

Tiheys: 20 s ja 26 krs = 10 cm ainaoikein-neuletta 3,5 mm puikoilla, kasteltuna ja pingotettuna. Neulo mallitilkku ja valitse sitten työhön puikot, joilla saat oikean tiheyden.
