My grandaughter needs clothes for her doll. Her doll is not a Barbie, but just a little bigger ( 8 inches tall and 5 inches wide). I could not find any clothes for this doll in the store, so I am making them. This first item is a simple poncho.
There are 2 pieces knit flat that are exactly the same. When you finish knitting the 2 pieces, sew them together about 1/2 inch at the shoulders/neck. When you cast on, leave a yarn tail that is long enough to sew up the poncho. Thread a needle and bring this yarn to meet the yarn you used to sew the poncho. Make a knot and weave in the ends. You can embellish it with some embroider or even do stripes.
