Not currently in publication, but if you happen to have a paper version from olden days, here’s an update - for the top decreases, things should read as follows:

With WS of band facing, and working around long edge of band, using circular needle, pick up and purl 114 sts along line of sts 2 sts in from one long edge. Turn (do not join).

1(RS). K1, s2kp, k11] to last st, k1.
2. P1, p11, k1 to last st, p1.

1. k1, skp, k9, s2kp to last 11 sts, k9. k2tog.
2. p1, p9, k1 to last st, p1.
3. k1, skp, k7, s2kp to last 9 sts, k7, k2tog.
4. p1, p7, k1……*

Continue in established fashion, decreasing 16 sts on each RS row until you have 18 sts remaining….
