Keep Me Warm Socks
This pair of socks is inspired by my many meetings with moose’s over the years. This incredible beautiful and huge animal who slowly walks by at a hike in the forests of Norway or Sweden.
My your new pair of socks get out on many adventures in the forest as well.
Yarn
100g /320m /346 yds of 4 ply fingering yarn, 29 stitches at 4” /10 cm
I have used 2 tr. Gammelserie by @raumagarn. It comes in yarn balls of 50 g/160m/180 yds.
Its 100% piled Norwegian wool without plastic. The “2 tr Gammelserie” is twisted more than normal wool yarn to become more durable.
I bought mine at @limmodesign, which ships yarn world wide (except GB)
You can also use many other sock yarns, you only need 29 stitches at 4”/ 10 cm.
50g/ 160m/174 yds of the main color
50g/160m/174yds of the contrast color
I used color lys grå melert 403 as main color and kobberrød 4904 as contrast color
Needles
A set of double pointed needles 2,5mm or 3mm/1 or 1,5 US (60 or 80 cm long).
The sock size depends on which needle size you use.
A tapestry needle
4 stitch markers
Colors and sizes
You always have to hold the contrast color first and the main color behind when you knit colorwork. In this way you get the patterning most clear.
