Keep Them Warm Socks
Thick socks knitted with 2 strands of 4 ply held together (or a single strand of 10 ply). Knitted toe up, with an eye of partridge heel cup using German short rows, and a slipped stitch heel flap. Designed using a sizing guide from Aussies Knitting for War Affected Kids.
Sizes go from 12-18 mnths up to 16 yo.
Yardage is not given as the samples were made using leftovers from a mixed array of yarns. The smallest size will take approximately 30 g and the largest size approx 100 g but the precise amount will vary.
This is a good way to use up 4 ply sock yarn leftovers. Divide up your yarns into two lots. Using two strands together, as one runs out, join in another from that set. To get matching / similar socks, divide each leftover into two equal balls and add one to each set.
