Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. This pattern is for a beautiful bulky weight shawl/wrap using super cozy, fuzzy yarn and some simple striping. This wrap is great for a cozy house wrap or lap blanket for this chilly winter days!

Size:
~68 inches wingspan, ~28 inches in depth (unblocked measurements)

Needles recommended:
US 10.5/UK 3/6.5 mm with a 60 inch cord
May need other size needles to meet gauge

Gauge:
10 sts x 20 rows = 4 x 4 inches (stockinette, worked flat, unblocked)
this gauge is rough, it is very hard to get an exact gauge with the fuzzy yarn! If you are somewhere around this you should be fine, the size may be a little different than mine but that is ok!

Yarn recommended:
Two colours of a faux fur/fuzzy bulky weight yarn, one as your main colour (MC) and one as your contrast colour (CC).

I used Hobbii Peacock yarn (71 yds / 100 g):

You could probably use a worsted weight faux fur/fuzzy yarn if it’s relatively plush, or if it’s a thinner yarn you could hold it double or along with a strand of something else. I know this type of yarn seems to be categorized differently depending on the brand, so I recommend giving this website a look to see if yours may be a good substitution: https://yarnsub.com/yarns/hobbii/peacock

You could also theoretically use any other bulky, but without the fuzz factor, it will definitely change the look a bit and the YO increases will be very visible, so keep that in mind!

Yardage recommended:
MC: ~375 yds (5.3 skeins of Hobbii Peacock)

CC: ~60 yds (0.85 of a skein of Hobbii Peacock)

if you think you don’t want quote as big of a shawl, you could go with 5 skeins of the MC, and skip the last few rows of the pattern.
