Keiserdalen
The sweater is knitted in one piece, using garter stitch and stockinette stitch/colorwork. The colorwork is knitted both knit and purl.
Afterwards, the entire piece is crocheted/stitched together under the arms and at the sides. Then, the ribbing and neckline are knitted last.
German short rows (gsr) are also used to achieve an even height in the work between the garter stitch and stockinette stitch.
Sizes:
1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7
Garment measurements:
Bust circumference approx.: 90 (100) 106 (118) 128 (138) 150 cm
Total length approx.: 54 (58) 72 (74) 74 (74) 74 cm (center front, excluding neck)
Sleeves approx.: 38 (38) 40 (40) 40 (40) 40 cm
The model in the picture is wearing size 3 and usually wears M/L.
Positive ease approx. 12 cm
Yarn requirements:
The sweater is knitted in Foxy wool from Den Lille Garnbutikken, and hand-dyed Rauma Fivel from Garnbar.no
Main color: 400 (450) 550 (650) 750 (800) 850 g
Pattern color (roses): 63 (63) 81 (81) 81 (81) 81 g
It takes approx. 6-9 g per rose, if you have leftover yarn you’d like to use.
Recommended needles:
Needle 5, 100 cm.
(If you’re using the magic loop technique, you only need this needle)
Needle 5, 40 cm (neck).
Needle 5, double-pointed needles
(vine ribbing around the sleeves).
Gauge:
Garter stitch: 15 stiches x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm
Stockinette stitch: 18 stiches x 20 rows = 10 cm
One full chart with the colorwork = 15 x 13 cm
Garter stitch can stretch a bit.
Therefore, it is recommended to block the sweater slightly instead of going up a needle size if you don’t quite hit the gauge, especially in height.
