Like the undulating fronds in the great kelp forests off the California coast, the Kelp Shawl highlights the play between filtered light and solid mass as the patterning alternates between solid sections of garter-stitch and an openwork of lace and simple cables. Done up in the lovely jewel tones of T & H Fiber Works’ Mantis Shrimp colorway, this oceanic shawl is sure to bring a bit of summer sunshine to your needles as you knit. Once finished it will be the perfect light-weight accessory for when the salt breeze picks up and chills the evening air around you.

The shawl is worked in a boomerang-type shaping so while the pattern is written to a specific size and yardage requirement, you can easily adjust the size by adding or decreasing the amount of pattern repeats before you begin the bind-off.
