Description: Kelsey Sweater - P278

A trending style with influence from OGE’s Diamond Sweater– P193, this design caters to boys and girls up to 12 years of age. This pattern is worked from the top down in one piece with no seaming required.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
Glenheavenknits Hand-dyed Natural Yarns, Luxury Sport weight 100 gram (280 metres -- 307 yds) 70% Australian/NZ Fine Virgin Merino, 20% Silk & 10% Cashmere.

A -- 105 grams -- 295 metres -- 320 yards
B -- 120 grams -- 335 metres -- 370 yards
C -- 140 grams -- 390 metres -- 430 yards
D -- 165 grams-- 460 metres -- 505 yards
E -- 205 grams-- 575 metres -- 630 yards
F -- 240 grams -- 670 metres -- 735 yards
G -- 260 grams -- 730 metres -- 800 yards
H -- 290 grams -- 810 metres -- 890 yards

As long as the gauge is the same as the pattern instructions, this can also be knitted in a superfine merino 8 ply yarn such as Cleckheaton Superfine Merino 8 ply - this will give the sweater a little more bulk.
This design was knitted in both Sports weight and light 8ply DK weight. The end result and measurements were the same as per the pattern specs, however as mentioned the 8ply DK was slightly heavier.
My intention was to have a light weight knit, which is why this yarn from Glenheavenknits is the perfect match for this design!

6 ply is a light weight feel for early Spring, Autumn.
8 ply will produce a slightly thicker and warmer knit!

NEEDLES REQUIRED

One 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, 40 cm (16 in)
and 60 cm (24 in) long needles.
One 3.75 mm (US 5 : UK 9) circular needles, 40 cm
(16 in) and 60 cm (24 in) long needles.
One set of double pointed 3.75 mm (US 5 : UK 9)
needles.

OTHER MATERIALS
8 stitch markers, 1 to be in a contrast colour.
Darning needle to sew in ends.

TENSION
22 sts x 35 rounds = 10 cm (4 in) worked in stocking stitch on 3.75 mm (US 5 : UK 9) needles.
