Finished Size: 35.75 (40.5, 43.6, 48.3, 51.5, 56.61) inches. The sweater is designed to be worn open and not quite touching at the center front.

The length is 25 - 29 inches from the backpack to the bottom of the lace edging.

This was first knit on the fly for myself while I cared for my father and needed something to do with my hands as I sat by his bedside.

I just cast on until I had enough stitches to go around my body and knit until I had to start the armholes or make an afghan instead. ;-)

I have had so many requests over the years that I have finally sat down and measured the original and created the pattern to recreate it. I am very pleased. Using the newly drafted pattern, my new version fits me exactly as the old one did.

This takes 3 skeins of Metakecot for the body on the smaller sizes and 4 skeins for sizes large - 3X. One skein of Mousou is used for the lace edging around the hem, front edge, neckline and bottom of the sleeves.

The edging is knit separately and attached after blocking.
