In spring, delicate blue and white bluets appear along the roadsides in the Kennebecasis River Valley. These mittens were inspired by Victorian china patterns and the flowers of a New Brunswick spring.
Materials:
Set of 5 DPNs, size 2.25 mm (small) or 2.5 mm (large)
~ 150-200 yds of Main Colour (fingering weight)
~ 150-200 yds of Contrast Colour (fingering weight)
Tapestry needle; 2 scrap pieces of yarn for thumb.
Small:
11 sts and 11 rows = 1” across palm
Final measurements: 3 ½” across by 9 ½” long
Large:
9 sts and 9 rows = 1” across palm
Final measurements: 4” across by 11” long
