I’m too young for Facebook, and too old for TikTok, so find me on Instagram - Someone on the internet one day.

It applies to me, but my children are very much into TikTok. And when the youngest said “Mom, if you make me a balaclava, I will wear the hll out of it!” - I was a mom on a mission.

I created this version to have a long neck, a bit for the chin, and extra shaping in the actual hood portion for improved fit. Cast on stitch count is the same for each size, just adjust the length before binding off the sides of the head.

I knew I wanted a quick and easy knit, but that would be so cozy that she would HAVE to keep her word. Honestly, I look kinda ridiculous in anything head forming (beanies etc) but when I put this on, I never want to take it off! I call it Kenny - after the South Park character… I’ve never seen the show, but have heard the “Don’t kill Kenny!” phrase for years, and I hear it in my head whenever I put on my “Kenny”. Now you will too. You’re welcome!

It has been designed with my own hand dyed yarn in mind, but other aran weight held together with brushed suri alpaca will work too. A note - Suri Alpaca is much fluffier than mohair. Mohair will work, but because it’s finer, the fabric may be a bit more open and it may not be as cozy.
