This crescent-shaped shawl features a diamond lace centre panel surrounded by reverse stockinette, with i-cord edges and finishes. The shawl is worked from the top down starting with an i-cord cast on. The i-cord is maintained along the sides of the shawl and is mimicked through slipped stitches bordering the lace panel. The lace panel grows through yarn over increases along the right and left sides of the charts, while the reverse stockinette grows through backwards loop increases along the i-cord edges. Prior to bind off, short rows are worked on the reverse stockinette portions to further grow the wings of the shawl.

YARN
Held double: 1650 yards, or 6 balls of Holst Garn Supersoft, 100% wool, 50g/314 y. Sample shown in “Nougat.” You must wash and block this yarn to obtain gauge. You must obtain gauge for required yardage.

Held single: 825 yards. If you would like to substitute with a yarn held single, I recommend an untreated DK-weight 100% wool yarn or a worsted-weight super-wash wool yarn.

NEEDLES
Main: 5.0 mm (US 8) circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Bind-off: 6.0 mm (US 10), or 1 mm (2 US) larger than main needle.

CORD
30 inches/ 75 cm or larger. You may need up to an 80 inch/200 cm cord for working the largest st count.
