The Kenosha Hat & Dickie showcase an innovative Woven Knitting technique creating an incredibly warm fabric from fingering weight yarns. This method uses two yarns held in a marl, simultaneously working a dense layer of cables overtop a squishy layer of garter stitch background!

This hat begins with a tubular cast on and brim in a single colour. The woven motif covers the body and crown of the hat and is worked in two colours. The woven motif is created by “weaving” together cables in two colours. The stunning crown dramatically highlights the woven motif.

The tutorials will guide you on your Woven Knitting journey. The 6 stitch/ 8 row repeat makes this project enjoyable and rewarding.

If you plan to make both the Kenosha Dickie and Hat, start with the Hat. You will need two skeins of each colour; however, the smallest sizes of can be made with one skein of each colour by using different colours for the edges of the Dickie and the hat brim.
