Kenyon Cowl
This pattern is inspired by the archaeological methods developed by Dame Kathleen Kenyon - a leading 20th century archaeologist. Kenyon’s work lead to the discovery of the worlds earliest wool, as well as a better understanding of the archaeology of the Ancient Near East as a whole.
The 1 over and 1 under cables used in this pattern are easy enough for your first project with cables, but create a complex pattern to keep an experienced knitter entertained.
The pattern creates a 26 inch circumference cowl. Additional notes describe how to adjust the pattern for different sizes.
Skills Needed: Knitting in the round, cable knitting, increases and decreases.
Materials Needed:
-1 Skein of DK yarn (100g/231 yards)
-US Size 8 (5mm) 24 inch circular needles

-Darning needle to weave in ends
Gauge: 5 stitches and 7.5 rounds per inch.
This pattern was heavily tested and should be free of any errors. A special thank you goes out to my test knitters - Suzanne of Groovy Hues Fibers and Jacie of KnitMona.
