Kerri's Kozy
Nov. 21, 2020 New, completely revised pattern available now.
Kerri’s Kozy is designed to fit your average 4 cup/32 oz Brown Betty teapot. It is stretchy enough and has an adjustable button closure so that it will fit a variety of differently shaped teapots, making it fairly universal. I use both a 4.5mm and a 5mm hook sizes depending on how snug or loose I wish to make the cozy.
This pattern is worked from the top down in one piece. No seaming required. I have rated it an intermediate pattern because it uses the chainless starting double crochet stitch and a starting double crochet stitch. Links to great video tutorials explaining these stitches are included. They are not difficult to learn and can then be used in other patterns. What they add is a beautifully finished edge with no unsightly bumps that you have when you use the typical ch 3 turning chain.
The pattern includes a couple of my own flower and leaf patterns as well as links to some other designers free flower patterns. These are flowers that I have used and are well suited to this project.

I hope you enjoy making Kerri’s Kozy as much as I do!
