Christmas decorations are such fun to create! And snowflakes to decorate your Christmas tree are almost addictive - once you start, you can’t stop! What’s more, there are always so many friends and relatives who are overjoyed when they find a snowflake slipped into a Christmas card.

Most of hand-made snowflakes are crocheted ones. As I’m a poor crocheteer, I ventured to design some snowflakes for knitters.

The pattern contains 4 different types of snowflakes, each in two or three sizes.

The snowflakes will work with any yarn, you can use crochet cotton or any knitting yarn. I personally prefer creating delicate lacy ones with laceweight or light fingering.
Plus, you can use any leftover yarn like silk and alpaca blends that are too precious to throw away yet you do not have enough to make another shawl.

Level: intermediate

Kerstki are knitted in the round on DPNs and started at the outer edge with knitted cast on. The hardest part of knitting a Kerstki is the tiny size of a project and the small needles, which may make the work fiddly. As the snowflakes work their way to the centre, the number of stitches decreases with basic decreases and yarnovers used.

Needle size and notions: DPNs in accordance with the yarn used, markers, ribbon or thread to hang the snowflakes on a tree, stiffener of choice.

The pattern has been tested and profread by several native-English knitters!

Dekoracje świąteczne, a zwłaszcza gwiazdki i śnieżynki należą do najbardziej urokliwych udziergów świątecznych!

Jako, że prawie wszystkie wzory na gwiazdki są szydełkowe, postanowiłam spróbować, czy nie udałoby się stworzyć gwiazdek na drutach.

I właśnie tak powstały Kerstki!

Poziom: średniozaawansowany.

Kerstki dziergane są na okrągło na drutach pończoszniczych. Jako, że jest to mały projekt robiony z cienkiej nitki, operowanie drutami wymaga pewnej wprawy.

Wzór zawiera cztery rodzaje gwiazdek, każda z nich jest rozpisana na 2 lub 3 rozmiary, średnica zależy też od grubości włóczki lub kordonka.

Druty i potrzebne materiały: druty pończosznicze, grubość dostosowana do użytej włóczki lub kordonka, marker /znacznik, dowolny utwardzacz, nitka lub kokardka do zawieszania.
