This pattern is available from knitwiz.com for $9.95.

This loose-fitting tee top sports a contrasting stripe across the yoke in a simple knit-purl combination. For a fun, sporty look, work the contrast stripe on both sides, or optionally, work the contrast stripe only across the front.

The contrast yardage amount listed is enough for both front and back.

Work the bottom ribbing, neck band, and sleeve finishing on a pair of circulars one size smaller than those used for the main body of the sweater, if you have the smaller size available. This will make a tidier ribbing. Be sure to swatch your ribbing so that it does not pull in at the bottom, and stretch slightly when measuring the blocked ribbing, as ribbing will stretch out naturally.

The silhouette is a basic drop-shoulder style with a wide round neckline perfect for comfort all summer long.

The top is constructed by working in the round from the bottom up to the arm openings, then working front and back separately.

Construction:

  • Worked in the round from the bottom up to the arm openings,

  • Divide for front and back, then working front and back separately.

  • At the neckline, the center stitches are bound off, then the right side of the neckline is worked to shoulders.

  • The shoulders and back are shaped using short-rows for a better fit.

  • The left neckline mirrors the right.

** Construction Note**
Since the first row of the contrast stripe is a purl row on the public facing side, be sure to switch colors on the last row (WS) of the stockinette. This avoids the color change showing in the purl bumps.

Estimated Yardages (CC includes enough for stripe across both back and front of tee). Measurements are at full bust/chest.

For larger (or smaller) sizes add (subtract) about 10% for each 4” of chest circumference. The pattern is size-inclusive. Actual Yardage will vary based on your measurements and a refined yardage estimate is calculated once you input your measurements. In general though, I’ve found yardage based on size to be a fairly good estimate.

Suggested Yarn: Luma by the Fibre Co in two colors.  Kits available at https://kindredknits.com/collections/summer-tee-kits or use your own yarn.

Gauge/Needles: depends on the fabric drape.  Add your own yarn (if different), and gauge measurements to your project.  Note that if your gauge while working the sweater is different than your swatch, you may enter the new gauge at any time and your instructions will be updated to reflect the new numbers. (It happens!).
