Note that the pattern embroidered in duplicate may pull the mitten together slightly, making it feel tighter.

EMBROIDERY IN DUPLICATE STITCH
The motif - which consists of a Christmas tree, glitter, and star - is embroidered on the front of the mittens after the mitten has been knitted. You may embroider the motif before the thumbs are knitted.
