Kid's Slippers
This pattern gives simple instructions and photographs for a simple-to make, quick to finish, pair of slippers for the kids in your life. I have provided 3 different sizing options to help cover more feet.
The 3 sizes covered in this pattern are 15cm (~6”) long, 18cm (~7”) long and 21cm (~8 1/4”) long. Each slipper has stretch of around 3 cm(1”) to allow for growing feet.
Using mostly DC stitches, this pattern is one that, once mastered, has almost endless possibilities. It is set as ‘Intermediate’ skill level, because of the need for structural work and the use of post stitches.
This pattern has been tested by independent crocheters, but if any issues arise, I would be very happy to help in any way I can. Use my Etsy, Facebook or Instagram pages to contact me for help.
To complete these slippers in the size you require, you will need:
a 4.5mm Hook (or size required to achieve a gauge of 10dc & 5 rows to 5mm(2”) square).
50-70m of a DK (8ply) yarn of your choice
a yarn needle for sewing in the ends
My test slippers were created using a graduating colour yarn called ‘Splendour’ purchased at Lincraft Australia. Other yarns will give either a similar or completely different effect.
Pattern is written in standard American terms with step-by-step instructions and photos to help guide your hook to completion.
