INSPIRATION AND A LITTLE HISTORY
Egersund Church is a beautiful white Church, located in the south of Norway, with history back to the 1600.
It is build on ruins from an older Church, and was restored in 1785.
The row of benches in the Church, has little hinged doors.
These are, as the rest of the Church beautifully decorated,
some of them with names and year. One of these doors has the name Kiesten Larisdoter, year 1705.
Who was she?
Did she have a leading position in town?
Was she the daughter, wife or mother of a well situated business man in town?
I will probably never get to know other than that she was proud of her name and that she probably was to be found in church on Sundays.
