Kilkee Shawl
About:
The Kilkee Shawl is named for a coastal town located in County Clare, Ireland along the Wild Atlantic Way in the horseshoe-shaped Moore Bay. This town is the gateway to the Loophead Peninsula.
The intersection of the thin, rugged Loophead Peninsula with the wild ocean crashing against it inspired the combination of clean, graphic lace in a sea of stockinette and garter. The surrounding garter and stockinette makes the lace all the more beautiful, just like the turbulent sea of the Atlantic Causeway makes the sliver of land named the Loophead Peninsula special. Each has their place, but together they are magnificent.
This shawl was created with a balance of lace to keep you interested, as well as, garter and stockinette to relax into. This is the perfect combination for when you need to take time just for you.
Written in one size, with instructions to modify it if you would like a smaller shawl. This classic worsted-weight, triangle-shaped shawl—with both written and charted directions—is perfect for an intermediate knitter but interesting enough for an advanced one.
