From the Pattern Description: The kimono sleeve, worked in one piece with the body of the garment, is fun to knit from the top down - especially if you have just learned the invisible cast-on and are perishing to use it for lots and lots of stitches. The finished kimono sleeve displays a marvel of technical virtuosity: it is worked around the arm instead of along it, yet shows no joins and is apparently perfectly seamless. Of course this marvel is very simply achieved by using the invisible cast-on at the outer edges of the sleeve, and the ordinary weaving or Kitchener stitch (which is commonly used to finish the toes of socks) at the inner edges.
