Here are video demonstrations of the slipped stitch cables (the drop right and the drop left) used in the pattern.

Trap in the heat waves with this easy slipped stitch accessory. The Kinetic Energy Hat, like the Kinetic Energy Shawl, uses slipped-stitch cables and garter row stripes to create a colorful concoction. Only one color of yarn is used at a time.

The hat begins with a ribbed brim and ends with spiraling decreases to shape the crown. Offered in three sizes, it is also possible to adjust the size of the hat by using a heavier or thinner weight of yarn and different needles (both of which will affect the amount of yarn needed).

The Kinetic Energy Hat might be knit in either two or three colors (the main color plus one or two contrasting colors).

The instructions are both written and charted.
