King Oyster Mushroom
Make your own pair of King Oyster mushrooms, a larger specimen that measures 4” long and a slightly smaller one that stands about 3.5” tall. Both are knitted in one piece and can be tackled in under an hour from start to finish.
For best results, use US 6 (4 mm) needles and heavy worsted yarn. Size down needle gauge if using a lighter weight yarn.
NOTIONS:
• Pair US 6 / 4 mm or US 5 / 3.75 mm needles • Sewing needle
MATERIALS:
• 15g Heavy Wrstd. Yarn (cap and stalk colors) • Poly-fill or wool stuffing
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important so long as the needles are somewhat smaller than recommended for the weight of selected yarn. This allows for a tighter knit and prevents stuffing from showing through the finished fabric.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, and seaming. This pattern can be easily adapted for knitting in the round.
