Kingfisher is a crescent shape shawl with textured stripes.
We start the work at the top of the center with a garter tab. Stitches are increased on every RS rows to achieve the crescent shape of the shawl. The textured stripes are very easy to knit and they make the knitting interesting.
The sample shawl was made using 4 colours, but the pattern can be easily modified to use only 3 colours (just ignore the instructions given for the C4).

Gauge
17 sts and 25 rows = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch knit flat (body and sleeve caps) with larger needle after blocking
Obtaining the correct gauge is not crucial, but any differences will affect the size of the finished shawl.
