Kinsfolk Cardigan Kit: This pattern is also available as a knitting kit which includes all the hand-dyed yarn required, and matching wooden buttons.

This baby cardigan is inspired by traditional embroidery designs from Transylvania, the area where the designer’s maternal ancestors come from. The knitted Linen stitch is reminiscent of the woven textiles common to this region and provides a nice background for the cross-stitch motifs.

The cardigan is knit with simple shaping and finishing, with the cross-stitch embroidery added afterwards. Pattern includes charts for the cross-stitch motifs, and detailed diagrams of how to embroider cross-stitch on knitting.

Cardigan is designed to be close-fitting, with 2-3”/5-7cm of ease. Size 0-3m is shown modeled with about 2½“/6cm ease.
