Kiriko is a Japanese word for cut glassware. Subtle texture on the back hand twinkling in the light looks like a clear Kiriko glass.
A decorative I-cord running from the cuff edge to the thumb is also attractive. The cuff slit and thumb gusset help take on and off easily and ensure a comfortable fit.
The cuff is first worked back and forth, then joined in the round for the hand.

手の甲にあしらった格子模様が浮かびあがってくる様子が、キラキラと輝くガラスのようだったので、ガラス細工の切子にちなんで名前をつけました。
手のひら側のスリットから、親指のマチにそってつながる縁飾りもポイントです。カフのスリットと親指のマチがあるので、着脱しやすく、手に馴染みやすいハンドウォーマーになりました。
スリットまで往復編みで編んだあとに、輪にして編んでいきます。
