Kirkland Shawl
Elegant, timeless, and feminine, this shawl is perfect for a special occasion or to simply bring out your inner romantic heroine.
FINISHED SIZE: 53” wide x 22½“ deep.
YARN: 465 yds sport weight wool or wool blend.
Shown in Miss Babs “Laurel Falls” (100% Superwash Shaniko Merino Wool; 300 yds/100 g) - Faded. 2 skeins.
NEEDLES: U.S. size 6 (4mm) 32” (80cm) circular needle.
OTHER: Tapestry needle, stitch marker.
GAUGE: 20 sts/36 rows = 4” in stockinette, blocked.
Gauge is not critical, but may affect final measurements and yardage.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include long tail cast on, knitted cast on, increases, yarnovers.
CONSTRUCTION: Knit from the top down with increases every right side row to create the triangular shape. Two garter stitches are worked for the border and one stockinette stitch is worked for the center spine. The bottom edge is finished with a picot bind off.
PATTERN: 9 page pdf includes both written and charted instructions.
