These potholders are knitting in illusion knitting, which is a simple technic.

The knitting is done with two colours. There is knitted two rows with colour A, and when two rows with colour B. When there is no illusion pattern to knit, all rows are knitted as k on both RS & WS.

In connection with illusion knitting, the masks on RS is always knitted as k. On WS the motive pattern is knitted as combination of k & p. By knitting the masks as p on the WS, these masks will be k on the RS and thereby looks minor. By knitting the masks as k on the WS, these masks will be p on the RS and thereby be looks more visible. The rows of k on the RS will be more visible as a pattern seens from a distance or by movements.
The diagram is only to be redden from WS, as all masks are knitted as k on RS.

The potholders can easily be knitted bigger or smaller by increasing/decreasing the amounts of masks around the pattern motive. In this pattern there is 6 m next to the edge of the potholder and 4 m between the pattern motive. So it is numbers of these m, which should be increased/decreased.

For 2 potholders knitted with 38 masks, there is used 48 g Yarn & Colors Epic of each colour. 38 masks and 80 rows gives a potholder of 22 x 25,5 cm.

Disse grydelapper er strikket med teknikken skyggestrik.

Der strikkes med to farver, og der skiftevis to pinde med farve A og så to pinde med farve B. Når der ikke strikke skyggestrik, så strikkes alle pinde ret på både ret og vrangsiden.
Når der skal strikkes motiv, så strikkes der stadig ret på retsiden. På vrangsiden strikkes motivet ved en kombination af ret og vrangmasker. Ved at strikke vrangmasker på vrangsiden, så bliver disse masker glatte på retsiden, som derfor syner mindre. Ved at strikke retmasker på vrangsiden, så bliver disse masker retriller på retsiden, som derfor syner af mere, idet de er ligger højere end de omgivende glatte masker. Herved fremhæves disse retriller, så giver et mønster, når strikket bevæges. som retriller på retsiden
