A Cat in a Window - my first cat -themed pattern. The first, but definitely not the last one!
Inspired by Russian Lubok prints ( Лубок ), some children’s poems, and Laurel Burch’s felines.
Picking the title for this pattern was a real challenge. Of course, the first title was in Russian – Кошка на окошке, it rhymes and sounds funny. Unfortunately, people get scared away by Russian language (is it Cyrillic alphabet that is so scary?), so I decided to look for some other translation that sounded right to my weird Russian ears, and I found one in Finnish. Kissa Ikkunassa – fun, short and catlike )). Plus, I have many fans in Finland, so I hope they will appreciate that D). I also hope that native English speakers won’t get offended. The instructions are, however, in English, as always. The PDF has two cat options; the cat is either awake or asleep, - pick the one you like.
