Level: Intermediate. To complete this project you must be able to read a chart or a pattern, maintain even tension, count accurately, and stitch confidently into starting chains. There are multiple steps to this project including crocheting PLT seams, adding increases according to your measurements, and stitching straps directly onto the finished body of the top.

All crocheters new to the Ribbon Candy Crochet technique should download and complete the Swatching Guide. It will teach you the basics and prepare you to begin any Ribbon Candy Crochet design with confidence. If the Swatching Guide is too difficult, then this pattern will be too difficult.

If you are a beginner, try the Ribbon Candy shawl or scarf book. These patterns contain more straight lines of crochet, simple increase curves, and are an excellent stepping stone to more complex Ribbon Candy Crochet structures. “Kiste Tank Top” would be a difficult and frustrating project for a beginner.
